I started TEPSIC back in Feb of 2010. Now I’m finally about to print the magazine I always wanted to.
I used to ask for submissions and ask artists if they would be okay with me printing their pictures in TEPSIC. A cool way to have the best pictures from all these cool people in a weird circular magazine. I got pretty burnt out on it, real quick. Every picture I was printing was on the internet in a million places before I could take it to print, a ton of magazines circulating the same artists…which is cool, but nothing I wanted to be a part of.
Dayv had me thinking on making a special “music” issue, where I ship out cameras to bands/musicians and have them snap pictures for a special issue of TEPSIC. Around October 2011, I had already shipped out I think 5 cameras by then and was getting super into it. So into it I completely changed the direction of the magazine.
TEPSIC is now a music magazine. Poster-sized. Printed by me. Shot by the coolest musicians around the world. Pictures of people truly livin’ the life. Pictures that will not be seen anywhere else, except for in your hands. With special thanks to my girl for helping me keep the dream alive, Dayv with some cool creative ideas, and Matt’s additional help, this is finally happening and I couldn’t be happier.
I’m going to throw some B-sides your way over the next couple of weeks before we launch the new issue. Hope you enjoy.
